REPORT ON THE 80TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, Kadamtala, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026 with immense joy,pride and patriotic spirit. The celebration was graced by SHRI SUBRATA BASU, Zilla Parishad Member, Kadamtala, as the Chief Guest. A total of 213 members, comprising 192 students, 17 staff members and 4 non teaching staff members, participated in the celebration.
The day began at 6:15 a.m. with a Prabhat Pheri. Students from Bal Vatika II to Class X participated enthusiastically, raising patriotic slogans and spreading the message of love for the motherland.
After the Prabhat Pheri, everyone gathered on the school ground. 'Vande Mataram' was sung by the students and teachers. At 7:05 a.m., the National Flag was unflurled by the Chief Guest, Shri Subrata Basu, along with the Headmaster, Shri P. Appanna Sir, followed by the National Anthem.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of Independence Day and the duties of citizens. Supriya ma'am, a teacher of the school, also shared her thoughts on patriotism, discipline, unity and social responsibility.
The celebration continued with the colourful cultural performances. Students presented the patriotic song "Mera Himalaye Akash Chule", while students of Classess I and III presented a patriotic dance. Young speakers of the school also shared their views on Independence Day and the responsibilities of citizens.
The programme concluded with the inspiring slogan "Bharat Mata Ki Jai", followed by the recitation of the Shanti Mantra. Sweets were distributed among the students and staff at 8:00 a.m. The celebration ended on a joyful and patriotic note, filing everyone with renewed pride in the nation and a commitment to contribute towards its progress.
